An ode to Nothing.
From nothing to something: From rock to bowl.

This project focused on intentional decision-making within craft while conceptually exploring nothingness. I’ve aimed to maintain a balance between material, idea, and reflective practice. The slow nature of the process itself provided space to uncover a sense of meaningfulness.
While meaning may be subjective, the contrast between “nothingness” and “meaningfulness” served as a guiding tension in my exploration. The transformation of an ordinary rock—initially representing absence—into something purposeful embodied this journey. Through making, I found connection and clarity; the rock became both a tangible result and a metaphorical anchor bridging the void between nothing and something.
Ultimately, it’s this interplay that gives the process its significance. Without nothingness, there would be no something to emerge.
